About the Author

Shawn KNOWS what it means to turn test into testimony. Blanchard is a firm believer that we never lose; we simply win or gain wisdom. Throughout his humble beginnings he has applied these simple truths, evolving into an upstanding gentleman and exactly what he needed as a child to many. Through co-founding a successful mentoring program—which extended to legal guardianship of a teenager, obtaining multiple degrees; leading a math department to the top 5% in New York City; teaching mathematics at the University of Michigan; co-founding a fitness movement (Run This Town/Networkingout); being featured as Essence magazine’s Man of the Month, on CNN’s “Impact Your World”, and most recently as Black Enterprise magazine’s “BE Modern Man”; he has defined what it means to be a modern day “Renaissance Man.”

Blanchard was appointed to the City of Detroit’s Mayoral Cabinet as the Director of Youth Services. During his tenure he successfully launched a citywide elementary soccer league and provided nearly 5600 jobs, heading the Grow Detroit’s Young Talent youth employment initiative. He also served as the Detroit Mayor’s Office Liaison of President Barack Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) initiative.
Today Shawn is coined the Mentorship Specialist and an execution expert according to Forbes Magazine. He's married to making the lives of others better. He's the CEO of Lion’s Dream Publishing, Co-Owner & Philanthropy Advisor for a custom suit company, “SnapSuits”, a Best-Selling Author, Renown Speaker, and an active member on a number of boards. During speaking tours, he provides scholarships, custom suits, and ties to young leaders and audience members. Blanchard has received received the President Barack Obama’s Volunteer Community Service Award, the National Made Man Award from Black Enterprise, 100 Black Men, and Upscale Magazine and has been recognized as one of America's Top Millennial Influencers by the Next Big Thing Movement. In sum, Shawn uses his life experiences to enable people to live life to the fullest with a winning perspective.
