What notions the Nazarenes have of the faithful! Verily, they imagine that our sole end in life is to kill Kaffirs, spread the Koran, marry many wives - and then go to the houris of paradise. Of the many thousands who lead quiet, peaceful lives, no way differing from the people of other faiths, they little know and care still less. Let a wayfaring Nazarene come peacefully to the tent of a sheik as a benighted wanderer, homeless, cold, and hungry - and in truth he will taste of hospitality, and receive welcome and comfort, even as one of the brethren.
