The other evening I was speaking at a meeting. The chairman asked, “How much time does the average man spend in meetings, Mr. Hegarty?”
The business man would answer, “Too much.” The professional man will say, “There are too many.” The ladies will agree, not because the master has spoken, but because they feel that way too. But the meetings go on, you and I attend, and they eat up valuable time.
And that time is the most important tool we have to work with. To do our work, our good deeds, to think, to play, there are only so many hours in the day. How often have you said, “Oh, if only I could spare the time”? And here we are spending so much time in meetings.
