This adapted TED Talk explores the resources, skills, and breakthroughs needed to get a colony on Mars in the near future. As author and narrator, Stephen Petranek sounds, not surprisingly, comfortable and confident with the material. His delivery is even and clear, and he grasps where to emphasize his points and where to be more deliberate. However, because his timbre is a bit nasally and his voice lacks depth and range, this is not a fully engaging aural experience. But while his voice itself may not be enticing, the content and his consistent narration will be encouragement enough for listeners to enjoy this brief production.
