About the Author

Derek and Kyle Sullivan are just your average set of monozygotic twins on a mission to conjure stories and characters that parents enjoy as much as their children. To get there, they never lose sight of their target audience: themselves as children.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest on crayons, ghost stories and fish sticks, Derek is now a Seattle-based illustrator and designer, while Kyle bides his time as a writer in Portland.

Kyle Sullivan is a writer based in Portland, Oregon. His titles for children include Monster ABC, Goodnight Krampus, Get Dressed, Sasquatch! and Hush Now, Banshee!

One little Banshee is looking for some fun.
“It sure seems quiet. Where is everyone?”

Two round ghosts are reading books by the lake—
“Heeey!” cries Banshee like a roaring earthquake.
The ghosts scream “Ahh!” and together they plead:
“Hush now, Banshee! We’re trying to read!”

Three hobgoblins are dozing in the muck—
“Hiiii!” yells Banshee like a wailing firetruck.
The hobgoblins jump right out of their clothes:
“Hush now, Banshee! We’re trying to doze!”

Four sleepy locals are fishing on the dock—
“Heyo!” screams Banshee like a loud alarm clock.
They jump in the water with a splash and a splish:
“Hush now, Banshee! We’re trying to fish!”

Five bog monsters are cleaning up their place—
“Hiya!” shrieks Banshee like a meteor from space.
The bog monsters tremble as if it’s Halloween:
“Hush now, Banshee! We’re trying to clean!”
