Are you ready to get your child excited about faith? "I Have Faith" puts your child right in the footsteps of Danny as he begins to learn about faith. Danny and his older brother have been wanting a dog, but both know their parents don't think they are ready for a dog. When Danny's mom begins teaching him what the bible says about faith; he puts his faith into action. After praying and releasing his faith for a dog. Doubt and even his best friend keep telling him that he will never get a dog. Over time Danny never loses his faith in the promises of God and finds that God is faithful and that faith works. Come along on this journey that is a real life event that took place in the author's life as a child.

This book has great illustrations that support a wonderful story about finding faith in God. As you are teaching your child about principles in the bible; this book will help you teach faith. What a wonderful experience it is when we can see our children begin to develop their faith in God, and grow from a tiny mustard seed to a firmly planted tree. The back of the book has a parent/child discussion which will help children gain understanding in faith and some scriptures that Danny's mom used to get him excited about faith.

About the Author

Davin lives in the beautiful high desert of Southern Arizona with his wife and son. He is releasing his first book "I Have Faith" in May of 2016 but has so many more that are in the making. The motivations behind the books are deeply rooted from in his own past. He is a living testimony of Proverbs 22:6. Growing up in Southwest Kansas and in a Christian household, he was trained up in the way he should go. By the time he became a teenager, Davin turned away from God and left the church. Fast forward into his late twenties and God brought him back with a powerful calling. Jesus told the disciples to not hinder the children from going to him. Faith is such a vital part of a child's life and as parents we can either hinder or develop our child's faith. Whether in the form of speaking in a public setting, writing a book or novel, or living a life of faith; Davin is working to teach both parents and children practical ways that help us develop faith every day. Davin fully believes that God's plan for our lives starts the day we are born. Everyday God wants us to hear from Him and develop a personal relationship that continues through eternity. As we listen to Him and know His will; faith always works and His promises come to pass, because we are releasing our faith in accordance with the will of God and not our own thoughts, feelings or reason. 1 John 5:14 says that the confidence we have is in knowing that we have asked according to HIS WILL. Davin has the hope that as an author the will of God is revealed to the reader and the listener; to know Him more and more every day. Childlike Faith Publishing stands on Proverbs 22:6; train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. We believe that just as Jesus spoke about faith being like a tiny mustard seed, so are our children. When they grow up they become great. There is nothing better than to see childlike faith become a mature and steadfast faith in the Lord. So we are dedicating our time, talent and treasure to publishing books that develop our children in the way they should go. Simple books that teach children about principals in the bible. Our focus is not to push a doctrine or a belief system. It is to get in these books, exactly what Jesus says, and do it in a way that is fun for early readers. We are just getting started and have so much lined up. 2016 is the kick start year and know that every book published will be a blessing to your household. In this day and age we are seeing the most biblically illiterate generation, ever. It is time to get more biblical books in the hands of our future generations. Together we can train up children in the way they should go.

Review: I love this little book! As you can see above and below, the illustrations are beautiful, and the excerpt below, from the first two pages, shows how simple and easy to read the text is.
The story is a great way to teach young children about faith--what it means, why it is important, etc. At the back of the book, you will find discussion questions to enforce the message of the book, Bible verses about faith, written in language children can understand, and a parent guide to help lead discussion with your child.
I highly recommend this book to any parent/grandparent/adult who wants to introduce a child to faith.

I Have Faith is an excellent book to help show children what it takes to have faith. It is believing but also acting on that belief. There are discussion questions at the end of the book to help parents take the next step in teaching what faith is; as well as a page with scripture verses to help build faith. I will put this book in my classroom library to allow my students to read it also.

My Impressions of I Have Faith: Jennifer Clausen
This was an adorable little book that helps children relate to God and their own personal faith. The illustrations were excellent and captured the heart of the story without coming across as cheesy. The use of a dog was a great analogy to use for this age group since so many kids want the love of an animal.. It really helped my son connect to the message because he has been down this path before. I love the way the author captured reliance on God and how things work on His timing and not our own. For a young child learning patience as we wait on God can be a lesson within itself. Heck as adults we need that lesson. It is hard to wait on the things we really want, especially when we are surrounded with negativity and our own self doubt. This book is a great way to connect with your children in understanding faith and the importance of waiting on Gods timing.

I Have Faith is a nicely illustrated book with text that is easy for young children to read. It teaches them about having faith in the Lord and that He hears and answers our prayers. It's a great book for teaching children about faith but it doesn't explain that even though God hears our prayers, sometimes His answer is no. I think it would be important for parents to address the fact that faith is important but even with faith, you may not get a puppy (or whatever your heart desires at the moment).
