About the Author

Judith Barrett Lawson is a critically acclaimed writer, lyricist, seasoned screenwriter, and former film executive. She is also the proud godmother or auntie to a goggle of gorgeous geniuses who will fight over taking care of her in old age. It was for them these poems were first written, then produced as a play at the Two Roads Theatre in Los Angeles, which the LA Times reviewer called "poignant and perky."

Jude grew up in Wenatchee, Washington. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pepperdine University. A longtime resident of Malibu, California, Lawson's home succumbed to the infamous Woolsey wildfires, so she is a footloose and fancy-free to come visit your school or town and recite some poetry!

A troll, and a lovely invisible dog.

Or maybe you’d like an especially nice

Magical bean or two tap-dancing mice.

And under full warranty, too.

It’s all in my bag of make-believe.

Come look! Come see what’s new!
