About the Author

A first-time author, Nicole Kaydic has realized a childhood dream with the publication of in our forties: a book of Haiku. She is a person in recovery from addiction and as a result did not start adulting until the age of 30. Since then, she has created a life that includes a patient, tolerant husband, close bonds with her mother and adult daughter, a bachelor's degree in psychology, service in the military, and a passion for rescuing dogs. Nicole is also an advocate for others who have addiction and/or mental health conditions, and shamelessly shares her own story and struggles in hopes of helping others feel heard and safe.

Nicole has been active on social media, written blogs, co-hosted a podcast series , and worked with other creatives in the last couple of years to explore where her journalistic soul is most satisfied. in our forties: a book of Haiku is the next step in her search. At the end of the day, she hopes nothing more than to provide a small, positive influence for others in this overwhelming experience that we call life.
