About the Author

Christine Grady Gorder lives in Tucson, Arizona. A graduate of the University of Arizona with a BA in Spanish in 1946 and an MA in ESL in 1973—she began her career with the CIA at its inception in 1947. She served at two US Embassies in Latin America and then at CIA headquarters until retiring in 1956. Her second career as an ESL instructor at the UA began in 1973 was interrupted for ten years and then continued until she retired in 1993. Her passion for travel has taken her far and wide. The most memorable trip—a voyage around the world by plane in the 1970s. Her passport is valid until age 100!
