India 1783: An Uprising
Year 1783 was the pivotal point in history of India. American colonies declared independence from British Empire and formed the United States of America. Ever since then United States has prospered. It is the leader in Innovation and has become the beacon of Freedom around world. Around the same time, India was pushed further into bondage as English annexed India piece by piece. Why did India walked a totally different path than United States, England, France, Italy, Japan? After all India was a developed culture with one of the largest economy. It had access to the latest technology, same as most of these nations had at that time. Then where did things go wrong? We will never know that without careful analysis of political situation in late 18th century.
This book presents the authors view of the political situation and mindset of Indians around that time. The story is set in fictitious princely state of Kadamba on Malabar Coast of India surrounded by beautiful rain forests and forest hamlets. It portrays the life of common people, their festivals and village customs which changed forever under English Rule. But it also highlights the achievements of Indian civilization and the greatness of India which can never be shadowed by anyone. Only those few who were aware of this heritage stood up to challenge the shrewdness of British East India Company. This is the tale of their uprising ……
