CHAPTER 1

"Dedicated to God and to those who Believe"

"Believe"

The house of God I worship in is very old,
and has had many preachers and pastors,
who have tended to God's people in his fold.

And so, a new life for me has begun,
to enjoy another morning sun. Healers
heal the body, and preachers for the
soul salvation of every one.

He who is righteous and upright shall
receive the greatest gift of all, God's eternal love.
With his love and grace abiding in me, All
my faith and hope in Him, must come from above.

How else can I explain that which I receive
from the Father and His only begotten son Jesus,
only that by faith and grace do I truly believe.

"From the Heart"

The Lord has blest us throughout
Another year, give thanks and praise, and be
Of good cheer.

Let not gloom surround us, nor be in dismay,
for Christ our Savior is born this blessed day.

Let us share with all, the fruits of our labors,
with those less fortunate children, friends and neighbors.

For when given from the heart, and not reward,
it comes back tenfold from Christ the Lord.

December 1990

"A Christmas Poem"

It's that time to wish good cheer,
to friends and neighbors we hold so dear

Families and friends will gather round,
to proclaim a most joyous sound.

The son of God is born this blessed day,
on a bed of straw, in a manger far away.

I wish I could have been there,
to kneel before this exalted child,
and pray to him my own special prayer.

To worship this newborn baby boy,
who would bring to us good will, peace and joy.

December 1990

"By Grace Alone"

Into this world I came with naught
but the grace of God.

And so I shall leave when I'm
Lain beneath the sod.

The Lord giveth, and the Lord
taketh away, so let us be thankful
For all the blessings we have today.

"Don't Just Keep the Faith—Pass it on"

(Easter Poem)

It has been said that everyone at some
time in their life, a cross they must bear.
Can we ever know real suffering, when God's
son was crucified, and died for man's sins everywhere?

As mortals we're made in God's image like his
only begotten son, but that's where it ends, for
no one would give his life for other's sins.
No Not One!

When our personal adversities are heavy
laden with burden and despair, meditate on
Jesus on the cross, after all, who are we
to say what is fair.

Through the ages our faith was passed on
by generations of old. Can we count the stars
Or grains of sand, or doubt the faith of
those so bold?

There is a good and joyous ending
to this story,
For Christ was risen by His heavenly
Father in all his glory.

The next time you feel despair, look
For the light that's always there.
Look to the heavens and know He does care.

1992

"GRACE"

Heavenly Father we are truly blest,
and grateful for the abundance you
provide us, and we are thankful
for the friends who share this table.

Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

December 1995

"Faith"

When trouble and sorrow prevail,
whom do I hail?

My Lord Jesus, for prayers to Him
do not fail.

He breaks down that wall, and
gives me strength through it all.

I'm lifted in faith, grace, and love
of God, from heaven above.

For the love of Christ
In the Holy Spirit,

"The Path"

As I walked along the road of sorrow,
I found a path to a better tomorrow.
The path was lit with a golden glow,
tho where it would lead, I did not know.
And yet a sense of peace came over me,
for on the path ahead, a bright light I did see.
It was Jesus beckoning me to come,
And live with angels when my life on earth is done.

"Goodbyes are not Always Easy"

Though we haven't known you too long,
you brought us together in joyous song.

Spiritually you gave love and understanding,
to many of God's flock, and never demanding.

May God grant our prayers and wish for you,
that there be a song of praise in all you do!

For Pastor Jim McGraw,
yours in Christ Jesus,

"Unknown Journey"

It seems to me I've been there a long
time ago. Although I can't tell where or when, I
don't know if it's recent or sometime way back then.

I believe it must be a place from my long
forgotten past, but in trying to remember it all, my
dreams don't last.

For every corner I turn, and any path I take,
I'm always lost, hoping not for another mistake.

All dark and dreary streets that I found,
were not of the journey which I was bound,
but a guardian Angel was watching out for me,
for what I was searching for was not to be.

Though I knew not the path I couldn't find,
It was God's destination only He had in mind.

"In God's Time"

In times like these, it's not always
easy to cope and please.

God has His reasons for all of our
Spring and Winter seasons.

Ours is truly not the reason why,
but to be remorseful, and yes, to even cry.

For though we are here on borrowed time,
there's time for tears, and time sublime.
There is joy in knowing that the Son of God
will lift us up when our stay on earth is done,
and we shall meet at heaven's gate to
sing praises to God and his only son.

"A Father's Prayer"

My son my son, this is all we have left when all
is said and done.

You were a star in your time here,
and you will still shine, have no fear.
Without the pain and suffering you've gone
through, I believe our Lord Jesus
will make you anew.

Our God is a lover of music and song,
I believe your talents will please our Lord,
and his angels will guide you along.
My son, it looks as though you have won,
God has lifted you up to be with His Son.

Listen well to Jesus my son, for he is Lord,
listen that you may hear that long lost chord.
My son, when you see our Lord Jesus' face,
you will truly know of Amazing Grace.

October 22, 2009

For my son Ramond, Peace and Love be with you always,
and in our hearts!

"Tears of Love"

Tears of joy, tears of hope, and tears of pain,
tears of sadness, when there's nothing more to gain.

Tears, like raindrops falling from above,
be they salty or sweet are from God's eternal love.

How would we cope without rain or tears, and
without God's love and grace to subdue our fears.

When heavens clouds open to give us rain,
it nourishes all the world without disdain.
The tears we shed are from God who knows
our suffering, and our joys and fears.
He gave His only son so we'd be forgiven
our sins all these thousands of years.

For whatever reasons the tears may fall,
God's love always cleanses away, and
comforts us through it all!

"Heaven Bound"

All ye faithful gather, and listen to
the music of "Heaven Bound"

We are blest by Gods given talent,
to those that please us with song and sound.

The very gospel songs we hold so dear,
and the favorites we always love to hear.

Our God loves all music and songs,
all praise and honor to Him belongs.

For He has blest us with the sound,
the sound of music by "Heaven Bound"

To these words I can truly attest,
to hearing music by some of Gods best.

"Dreams to Ponder"

Dare we dream to be a people of God's chosen
ones, to dream of brotherly love of fathers,
mothers, daughters, and sons?

Dare we dream of world peace
without war, untimely death and
disease, and rage over race to cease?

God provided the garden of Eden
for His first creations to serve Him.
Have we lost track of the dream for
which we are to survive, or does
our future look really dim?

Proverbs 3:16 ~ In all thy ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct thy paths.

"Angels"

God made us both, me and you.
He also made all of the angels.
do you suppose we could become one too?

If our hearts and faith are in place,
and we're in tune with God's universe, we
could surely become one by His grace.

There's most certainly angels here on earth,
if only we knew the time and place where
we just might meet. Oh' what mirth!

How that angel might look or feel,
we couldn't know who, when or where,
if it does occur, would we know its' real?

Of all the good heavenly inventions
by the Almighty Creator of angels,
we can believe in His intensions!

We do believe in angels on high
and I know there's one beside me, and
always near to guide me. Would I lie?

(Written and dedicated to the angel
that God has assigned to me!)

"Just One Master"

Until my life here on earth is still,
and my guardian angels' by my side,
until then I shall have my own will.

If Satan should try to ring my bell,
I just won't answer him because
I really don't want any part of hell!

There's just one master of my soul.
I can only imagine His disappointment
should I falter, and fall into that dark hole.

There'll always be many a temptation,
by demons all over this world, but
my faith will keep me from damnation.

Although all my thoughts are ethereal,
and my soul will be in eternity, it's
who I really am, and how I really feel!

"Have You Heard?"

The joy of things to come from above,
given to us through faith and grace by God,
who gave His only begotten son out of love.

Have you heard of the man whom we call Jesus,
the Savior of all mankind who gave His life
for us? No matter who we are, He hears us.

Have you heard of that most holy place,
a place where all heavens angels tread,
and all who enter there are by God's grace?

Have you heard music, and the sounds of joy,
not really of this earth, but heavenly sounds,
and performed by angels we cannot employ?

Have you heard the closest to this sound,
by earthly Christian beings for God and Son,
and performed by the music of "Heaven Bound"?

"Promises Made, Promises Broken"

In this world of torment and pain,
God promised us a world without end,
with more to lose, and so much to gain.

God will keep the promises He made,
if we keep His commandments, and
keep sacred the holy words God Prayed.

The time will certainly be forthcoming,
as in the book of Revelations, of wrath,
and destruction by God. All will be stunning.

We really can't know that sense of fear.
Will we be ready to meet our maker, can
we pray hard, and loud enough for God to hear?

All of the damned will be consumed by fire,
and sent to that abominable place called hell,
while the innocent of God's chosen will not expire!

April 12, 2011

"The Darkest Hour"

When thunder and lightning appear,
heavy storms and black clouds form above,
it's God's way of telling the world, death is near!

In our wildest human thoughts or dreams,
could we ever imagine a horrible death,
or feel the pain, not just how it seems?

The Lamb of God given to us in the form of man,
to give His life for the sins of mankind, for
forgiveness and the love of Christ, who else can?

As Christ has risen from the grave,
what will become of this world as we know it,
will we be able to survive a great tsunami wave?

Only the Lamb of God who takes away our sin,
can grant forgiveness, love and grace to those
faithful believers who are chosen to win!

"Never Ending Story"

I can't comprehend in all my days,
the loving compassion of a living God,
and how He works in mysterious ways.

If we traveled around the world,
and could see the wondrous things our
God has created, as His colors unfurled.

Does our faith and belief in Him show,
can we not see all the goodness around us,
or are we blind, and care not to know?

Our world wouldn't, couldn't, will not survive,
without our Creators compassion and love, we
need only to believe, He will once more arrive!

"You Raise Me Up"

In my life you will always be,
the one whom I can always count on,
having you near, and next to me.

Should I ever falter or stray,
I know you'll be there to pick me up,
because I believe in you every day!

What could my life be like I wonder,
without your love and faith in me,
would I be able to bear all the thunder?

My heart just overflows with love,
from my Lord and Saviour who by
His grace will raise me above.

"Paradise Lost"

Is paradise truly undeniably lost,
and why should we be searching for
this great place at any, and all cost?

Its' one of magnificent gifts we receive,
from our Creator that gave us life, and
what He asks, is for us to believe!

In the time of worldly departure,
will we be repentant, and pray for
salvation in the hope of heavenly rapture?

Paradise is never lost, and always found,
by those whose faith is real, and believe
in a paradise in which we're heaven bound!

"Oracle of the Lamb"

Long before the ancient Greeks and Romans,
a gentle lamb was born to become man among men,
into a world of debauchery, one of many omens.

This lamb was to become the world's most published,
yet unbeknownst to mankind in those times,
His too young life cut short from being anguished.

Blessed by His father for all He became,
and His life given up for the world's salvation.
His teachings all written, which no one can defame!

Although not totally understood when reviewing,
this holy book written by scholars before my time,
there truly are many stories worth ensuing.

We are guided by the shepherds staff and rod,
and those who witnessed with great faith, in
the coming of the Lamb, called the son of God.

"The Door"

Somewhere there's a place with no door,
always open to those that know the way,
with no secret passage, and no floor.

It's somewhere in between and always there,
it's built by one original and true mason,
and anyone can access with a solemn prayer!

Built like a rock from front to back,
yet opens to many mysteries of life, and
yes even death, leaving nothing slack.

There're many trying times in life today,
yet this door is open for consolation, to
anyone who enters wishing to pray.

By now you must know where I'm leading,
with no physical door to go through, it's
not just a book, and it's worth reading!

"A Poet's Prayer"

It's true, I write because of you,
you who gives me the inspiration,
and the words flow like you tell me to!

I write words of hopes and of dreams,
knowing these thoughts come from you,
because I believe, and not just what it seems!

Words wrote not just by my hand,
but in the thoughts you alone provide,
so that I can truly understand.

A portion of my life is written here,
for those who read these works,
of hopes, and dreams without fear.

Blessed am I by this gift of love,
instilled within my heart and soul,
I do believe it comes from above!

"The Trail Guide"

No one knows where life's trails lead,
or the many obstacles along the way,
but there's one trail that's easy to read.

The way leads to a remote time and place,
when a lone man in His early thirties,
made His way to a mountain top face.

And there He stayed for many days,
with His face upward toward the heavens,
where He knelt, so the scripture says.

He prayed for guidance from above,
to God His father and creator,
for whom He has the greatest love.

And a great special love for us all,
so much so, He gave up His life, for us
not to get off the trail and fall!

An Aging Process

"Nuff Said"

When after all is said and done,
and you've been through it all,
when times were so full of fun.

Seems like it was just yesterday,
like the ups and downs of a sea saw,
two hearts working at what to say.

Memories now seem to fade away,
time and years just passing by, and
now the porch swing will only sway.

Life and love are still strong,
as we keep faith in our hearts,
which kept us going for so long.

Just waking, and clearing my head,
to survive another new day and
with a prayer of thanks, nuff said!

July 30, 2011

"The Way"

A time to sigh, and a time to cry,
when love and friendship are lost,
is not the time to wonder why.

It's time for strong faith and prayer,
to believe life's not at its final end,
because you are loved by someone up there!

Though it may seem very hard to do,
sing for joy and praise, you to Him, for
His love and guidance, just for you!

When your faith and belief are strong,
and your time's finally come my friend,
you'll know He is never ever wrong!

Keep Him in prayers, and always in your heart,
whenever you're feeling down and out,
just remember, you're never far apart!

July 17, 2011

"Believe and Be Bles"

A place in time for poems and rhyme,
a time and place for poems and verse,
things wrote to remember for all time.

It's all about people, places and things,
about life, and stories folks like to hear,
or about the fluttering of angels wings.

Things about the blessings we all receive,
our daily toils, and tribulations too,
but most important is that we believe.

We must believe in order to survive,
believing in one holy Supreme Being,
a God who sustains us, keeping us alive.

Poetically speaking, and from the start,
I am blessed with the gifts given me,
with all words written from the heart!
