Overview

We are being watched globally by an otherworldly intelligence. Among us, a few select children are abducted and have microscopic bio-monitors inserted inside them. Returned unaware, they go on to live a normal life. Scott and Elena are among them.
Scott lives in Medford, Oregon. He's an immature, sexist, middle-aged lumber worker with a penchant for barroom brawls and alcohol. Elena works as a nurse's assistant and lives with her family in Kyiv, Ukraine. Depression is her constant companion.
When Scott faces terminal cancer and Elena chooses suicide, the watchers intercede. Her injury is repairable. Her mind isn't. Hoping to save Scott, they make an offer that could preserve his life, but it will be a very different one.
The transfer is only the beginning. Returning home, Scott struggles to adjust to a nearly overwhelming new life. When a doctor discovers his alien implants, government agents make things worse by detaining him at the Alien Artifacts Research Facility in Area 51.
There, Scott learns a profound truth about an alien crash and the fate of one of their own. The only hope for escape is to signal the watchers. If successful, he'll face another hard choice that will affect everyone on earth... That's if life doesn't kill him first.

About the Author

Steve R. Denton, a native of Portland, Oregon, developed a fascination with airplanes and science from a young age. After serving in the US Navy as an in-flight technician, he embarked on a career at Tektronix, Inc., while studying electrical engineering. Turning to aviation after his 30th birthday, Steve became a skilled pilot and aviation technology teacher.
Inspired by a college expository writing class, Steve discovered his writing talent. Motivated by a girlfriend named Carol, he delved into science fiction, drawing from his scientific background. Steve authored notable publications, including the BE-99 pre-ground school brief and “Ice,” a study on aircraft ice accumulation.
In 2012, he published “The Enlightenment of Inferon” and is now diligently revising it as "The Inferon Limit," set for release in 2024. Excited about his latest work, "Intercedence," a contemporary earth-based science fiction novel, Steve envisions extraterrestrial beings with a higher purpose. Planning a sequel, he remains dedicated to sharing insights on the creative process, aspiring to inspire fellow writers.
