About the Author

STUART J. HILWIG is currently an Associate Professor of History at Adams State college in Colorado, USA. His interest in Italian history began as a teenager when he worked in a pizzeria owned by Sicillian immigrants. He earned a BA in History at Vanderbilt University and his MA and PhD from Ohio State University.
