Words are the magic that we hold within; magic I truly believe every child should hold on to.

When I was a kid, I always had a pen and paper in my hand. Or a book. Sometimes both.

I was always reading and writing. I used to carry around a journal with vibrant colors and a picture of Tweety Bird on the cover. I wrote songs, stories, and poems, mostly for myself but also for my friends and family. My mom would even have my poems published in the local newspaper.

Reading and journaling have been the things that helped me transform my life. They have helped me see massive energetic shifts and been my creative outlet when I was so full of ideas I was afraid I would forget about them.

They have been the things that have helped me share my magic with others. Now, I share my spark with kids as a reminder: You are made of magic!

Mae is the founder of Wolf and Whimsy Kids, where she helps kids hold on to their magic through social-emotional learning, guided imagery, mindful breathing, and (best of all) reading and journalling.
