These two books focus on life lessons drawn from the experiences of prominent sports stars, such as football player Terry Bradshaw and wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and other public figures, such as Condoleezza Rice and John Kerry. The various celebrities make their moral points well. But, in most cases, the author narrates the first-person parts of their stories in the same voice he uses for third-person portions of the book. This makes it difficult for listeners to distinguish between the author's words and those of the celebrity. In addition, Kilmeade reads nearly all the entries in the hyperactively enthusiastic style of many sports broadcasters. Using multiple narrators would have enhanced this book greatly and rendered its points more effectively. R.C.G. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine
