About the Author

I live in the Pacific Northwest in the Snoqualmie Valley. I am surrounded by our beautiful Mount Si, the Snoqualmie River and forests. I have always worked with children and young adults in many settings. Professionally, I taught history, geography, tutored in reading, and my favorite and main position was as the school librarian. I taught on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Wolf Point, Montana for most of my career where I used folklore to grab students' interest and foster learning when teaching geography. I retired from teaching after my Parkinson's became too evident and no longer allowed me to be successful in the classroom. Interacting with the students of all ages inspired me to write this novel. I enjoy writing, reading, walks, watercolors, and rescuing senior dogs and cats.
