About the Author

Edmond Payne was born in Williamston, NC. He graduated from Bertie High School in 1993, and later conferred a Computer Science degree from Elizabeth City State in 1996. Later in 2005, he graduated from AIU with a master’s degree.
Payne has a long history of working in counseling and training. He found his vocation as a high school counselor after graduating from Elizabeth City. There, he served eight years as an instructor and head basketball coach. Up until 2015, he also worked at two other community colleges. For four years he worked at a charter high school in Greensboro, NC, before moving back to his hometown to work at Bertie High School to teach and coach men’s varsity basketball
