Overview

The centuries old Acadian buildings of New Orleans speak of lives lived, stories shared, and secrets kept. They reflect the many cultures that flowed together to clash and blend in this port city. Stories born here live on for ages in songs and whispers. When I turned from a career as an architect to one as an author, I had to start here, imagining what must hide in the dark cracks and crevices of the old town.

From a jazz club with French doors thrown open to the street, the wail of a saxophone calls to the Goblin prince. Through the second-story window of an ancient brick building, a silhouette appears of the demon trapped within. The sniffles of a lost child accompany the musical call of a siren. But beware of the grasping fingers tipped with jet-black claws reaching for you out of the shadows. For they will catch you and never let you go.

Tales of creatures hidden in the shadows of New Orleans.
