About the Author

Melinda Priebe is an author and artist who lives in South Bend, Indiana, with her supportive, loving husband. Even as a young child, Melinda allowed her imagination to soar and suddenly had story ideas. She then shared them with anyone who would listen.

Melinda Priebe has written and illustrated two children‘s books, Johnny Loves the Library and A Walk Through the Zoo. Melinda‘s aunt Joanna Starner illustrated the third book she wrote, The Dreamer That Could. Melinda is currently redoing her memoir called My Inner Studio.

My Inner Studio tells the story of how Melinda miraculously regained her art and writing talent after she lost much of her cognitive function due to a traumatic brain. She shares that she has healed from other traumas and has found healing and closure after the death of her thirteen-year-old daughter. In addition, she gives wise advice to other authors who are starting out. Much of her advice comes from what she has learned the hard way. As a result, she had to redo some of her books, which was somewhat embarrassing. Even so, it was well worth her time and effort.

Surprisingly, Melinda does all her art and writing while working full-time at a retail store and being a wife, mom, and grandma. She also goes to church, spends time with friends, and takes care of their parakeet, an eighteen-year-old cat, a rescued German shepherd, and a water turtle she has had for thirty-five years. In her free time, she likes walking in the park, taking nature photos, and collecting shells and rocks at the beach. She also makes jewelry, much of it from the rocks and shells she collects or buys.

Melinda’s mission is to bring hope to others through her writing and artwork, and she has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Contact Melinda if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions or want to say hello. She would be more than happy to hear from you. You can reach her at her website and see more of her work, including her prints, art, books, and jewelry, at www.melindapriebe.com.
