JOSS
'Beauty is only skin deep, it's what's inside a person that counts,' very nice sentiments, but does anyone actually believe these little pearls of wisdom? Joss Hinchcliff was at a disadvantage from the moment he was born. You could not disguise the fact that he was a very ugly child, but he did not deserve the treatment that was dished out to him.
From birth, Joss had been a figure of fun; his friends teased him mercilessly and made unkind remarks about his affliction. For years he had endured this bad behaviour because he was lonely and wanted to be part of the community, but they were only his friends because of what they could get from him.
Then one day he found an abandoned vintage car which he re-built. As he was to discover, this was no ordinary car. Whilst out on a road test one day, it whisked him away to a mysterious place which would change his life forever.

About the Author

Fred was born in Stoke-on-Trent in 1941 during the bleak times of the war years. His father was a coal miner and his mother worked in the pottery industry. Stoke was a bleak place in those days. Money and jobs were hard to come by, but Fred received a good standard grammar school education. Favourite subjects. English, Art and Science. On leaving school at the age of 15, Fred gained employment as an apprentice motor engineer, gaining his City and Guilds. He later became a Regional Manager for a national motor components distributor.
As a young child, Fred wrote stories and related them to anyone who would listen.
In 2003 at the age of 62 Fred suffered a mild heart attack prompting him to take early retirement, emigrating to Cyprus, where he decided to take up his writing seriously. To date, Fred has had three novels published.
