The title track of Just Get up and Close the Door was Johnny Rodriguez's fifth chart-topper, falling in the middle of his peak years as a country hitmaker. The album mixes the old and the new, with a Willie Nelson song and two Billy Joe Shaver compositions alongside classics like "Am I That Easy to Forget" and "Fraulein," both of which are sung partially in Spanish. "Fraulein," a classic country ode to a German lady sung here in Spanish by an Hispanic-American artist, is Johnny Rodriguez's musical melting pot in a nutshell. Chuck Willis' R&B classic "C.C.
