And it isn't just a coming out memoir, it's a story about acceptance. A series of recollections about struggling to gain internal perspective, while remembering that everyone is going through some battle within their own lives. And that by sharing those times, we can actually close the distance between us.
It is a true story, my story, as best as I can express to you. Thanks for looking through my eyes, even for a short period of time.

About the Author

Matthew Alan grew up in Canton, Ohio. After graduating from Kenyon College, and earning a Master's degree from Western Illinois, he began a career in teaching and coaching. He is an avid swimmer, dog enthusiast, and reader.

From Matthew - I write books about struggling through life, because that's my experience. But even at the toughest moments, there has been humor.
Because when you're talking with friends after a breakup, you joke to make it real. And after a funeral celebrating a lost loved one, you're with family, telling the best stuff, the funny stuff.

That's life. That's what I write. Why I write. The juxtaposition of sad and happy, joyful and tragic. Nothing is more real than that.

Matthew currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
