This is the third and final volume of the Keys to the Trematoda, a series on the systematics and identification of the Class Trematoda. It covers five superfamilies within the Order Plagiorchiida and the family Didymozoidae, with keys for their identification at the family, subfamily and generic levels. It also includes a key to all digenean superfamilies, including those treated in detail in volumes one and two. Previous volumes dealt with the Subclass Aspidogastrea and Order Strigeida as well as the Order Echinostomida and the first two plagiorchiidan superfamilies.

The authors and contributors are established scientists with expertise in the study of the Trematoda organisms.
Features: The book has organized the Trematoda into superfamily categories as part of the classification of this family. The table of contents gives a good outline of the organization used to classify this group. The chapters provide detailed information about each family group that includes the definitive and intermediate hosts. Very detailed figures of each parasite help show the distinguishing characteristics between these closely related organisms. Chapters also include the geographic location where these parasites can be found.
Assessment: This is an impressive work that displays in an orderly fashion the various families that make up the Trematoda. It would clearly be useful to any scientist working in this area of research.
