About the Author

Krysten Parris is a baker, blogger, and entrepreneur. She grew up in Queens, New York. Around the age of thirteen, her family moved to Long Island, New York. There she developed a passion for cooking and culinary arts. At a young age, Krysten began to show an interest in what her mom was cooking in the kitchen, and she began to make up her own recipes. Krysten cooked breakfast, brunch, dinner, and desserts. Additionally, she began to create flavor pairings for beverages. Krysten studied and researched recipes to master the skill of cooking and baking various recipes from scratch. Several years later, Krysten earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and completed culinary school. In 2010, she opened a luncheonette, which she owned and operated for four years. Krysten enjoyed being an entrepreneur and learned a great deal about owning and operating a business. Krysten made a decision to close the business to pursue master’s degrees in early childhood education and teaching and learning with technology to strengthen her foundational knowledge. In 2017, Krysten married her husband Jeremy and moved to North Carolina where they currently live. Subsequently, Krysten launched a business called Krysten’s Custom Craves. She makes hot beverage mixes, fresh baked goods for mail order, and bakes for local special events. Additionally, Krysten also conducts cooking classes for children and adults.
