About the Author

Dwight L. Short, Retired (1971-2005), First Vice President-Investments, Merrill Lynch
CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst) CIMA
CFM (Certified Financial Manager, ML)
Wealth Management Advisor
Dwight grew up on a family farm in Delta, Ohio and has three siblings. His mother was a schoolteacher, and his father farmed. He graduated from Bowling Green State University (1967) as a math major and Case Western Reserve (1970) where he obtained his MBA in banking and finance. At Merrill Lynch, his practice emphasis was a dual relationship with individual and institutional clients to convert complex strategies into easy to understand choices for sophisticated clients, and those not familiar with the capital markets.
In 1999, Dwight became a member of the National Association of Christian Financial Consultants and a member of Kingdom Advisors in 2005. He is a founding trustee of In His Steps Foundation, a Christian Community Foundation. He continues to help in a variety of ministry activities in Northeast Ohio. He has been an active member of Cuyahoga Valley Community Church, CVCC (Broadview Hts., Ohio) since the mid 1990s, and has participated on several different mission trips. He is currently attending Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz (Tampa), Florida, while supporting the Kingdom Advisors activities in the Tampa area.
Dwight has published a weekly devotional known as the Monday Morning Message (MMM) on his website DLSConsult.com since 2003. The MMM speaks to varied subjects including financial news: sports news: and most of all biblical truth from real life situations. This experience was instrumental in a sense of calling for Dwight to take on a significant project in writing Kingdom Gains.
