About the Author

Shiva Chandra Bajpai took his M.A. degree in History in 1958 from Lucknow University and Ph.D. in 1969 from the University of Saugar. He was a student and UGC Fellow at the Indian School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. From 1973 to 1977 he was Visiting Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Simla. His publications are, The Northern Frontier of India, contributions in some other publications and research papers and articles in leading academic journals, on various aspects of Himalayan and Central Asian regions. Presently, Dr Bajpai is engaged in research on Himalayan Frontier Regions of India as an ICHR Fellow attached to the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
