The first of the 39 chapters overview B and L violation in grand unified theories, with lepton number and lepton flavor violation in left-right symmetric models and the flavor problem in SUSY. The contributors then discuss more specifically the potential of neutrino physics. B and L violation in the early universe are covered in a subsequent section.
