Learning to distinguish similar shapes is called visual discrimination. This is an important aspect of decoding; many letters in our Latin alphabet are quite similar in appearance. These imaginative volumes will refresh any collection. The spreads in each book feature cute miniature items, animals, and shapes, often organized by color against flat backgrounds. Diorama puzzles are also included, adding depth to the challenge. VERDICT These engaging and attractive picture challenges are great for pre-readers and readers alike.
