About the Author

Having lost my father and forced to leave my homeland at a very young age, I always longed for the day I could return to a free Cuba and see the land where I was born. This book took many years to write, not because of the length of the story, but because it was hard to gather all of the emotions on paper. Much research was done and some survivors accounts also were of great value. I wrote this to leave a legacy of my father and his ultimate sacrifice.
