About the Author

I legally changed my name to Sachin in 1998 when I was given the name by a living Saint in South India where I lived for two years meditating and doing service. Ironically the name means; "embodiment of truth and consciousness." Later my desire to serve those in need, inspired me to found the Share-A-Pet Organization, a national non-profit which provides pet-assisted therapy to individuals in hospitals, nursing homes and children's centers as well as a Pawsitive Reading program in schools. I balance it all out as an assistant martial arts instructor at Florida Aikikai, on of the largest Aikido dojos in the country, where I teach a Japanese martial art of "non-violent" self-defense. I am also the author of "101 Salvations", a book of rescue stories as told by the rescued dogs themselves. I currently live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with my wonderful and loving wife Dr. Bindu Mayi.
