excellent book! - Clint Cosgrove
"Im a network guy, so I honestly have no experience with software whatsoever the way an engineer would, but I can tall you that this book made the subject matter interesting and understandable. He even talks about the origins of Linux and the Pros of this operating system. Excellent book!"
Newbie guide to the Linux operating system - Eric Blankenstein
This book will open your eyes to the Linus operating system - which is an open source and widely used stable operating system. The Linux operating system (OS) is not well recognized by the average user ( including myself) and this handy book will shed light on this stable operating system and describe what it is, how to install it, use it and how to manage it.
In our business environment, we use different servers some of which are run on Linux OS yet I was completely blind to its power until reading this book. This book helped me understand it better, and gave me an appreciation for how extensive and comprehensive this OS is. I find the book to be a clear and useful guide for anyone that wants to become familiar, or want to learn how to use the Linux operating System.
Clear, step-by-step guidebook - DawnAlba
It's been many years since I've written code. So, with Linux, I didn't know my Ubuntu from my Fedora!
This book gives the history of Linux's evolution and then clear instructions on how to install it, basic network admin, and even alternatives to popular Windows apps.
