About the Author

William J. Ferguson serves as co-chairman and CEO of Ferguson Partners, a global talent management firm founded thirty-five years ago that specializes in the real assets and hospitality/leisure sectors. Ferguson focuses on CEO succession and governance advisory and board recruitment.

Ferguson also serves as executive-in-residence for New York University’s Chao-Hon Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance and as fellow for the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.

In 2022, Ferguson launched the Ferguson Centers for Leadership Excellence (CLE) Foundation. The foundation’s program promotes career opportunities for gender and ethnically diverse undergraduate students by offering tuition assistance, mentorship, and career placement in real estate and related sectors.

Ferguson has written five previous books on leadership. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business.
