Overview

John Rutan, a frontier Iowa farm boy, leaves the only life he knows to join the Union Army during the Civil War. Unexpectedly, he sees a beautiful city girl, Rebekah Ann Riley. They meet, become friends, and fall in love. Their lives change forever. They know that their love for each other and their faith must be strong. But is it strong enough to withstand the long periods of separation; and, endure problems, struggles, and tragedies that neither one can foresee or avoid? Can this once-in-a-lifetime love continue or will it be cut short by the throes of war?
