Overview

Do you enjoy wine, but worry that it can't fit in your keto or low-carb diet? Are you just trying to avoid sugar in your diet? Did you know that some wines contain more sugar than a can of soda? Or that wineries are not required to list nutritional information on their labels? Maybe you're interested in the growing segment of so-called clean wines, keto wines, or low carb wines, but don't know where to start.

Low Sugar Wines is the first book to break through the hype and give you the information you need to make smart choices when including wine in your diet. You'll learn how a wine's sugar, alcohol, carbs and calories relate to each other; how to identify a low- or high-sugar wine even with no information on the label; the hype and misinformation about clean wines; and as an added bonus, you'll have access to listings of hundreds of low sugar wines, indexed by their sugar content, alcohol, carbs and calories. This information is not available anywhere else to the average wine consumer.

Low Sugar Wines is the first book that specifically addresses sugar in wine. For anyone watching their weight, the subject of wine and weight loss comes up frequently. Questions like "what's the best wine for weight loss" and "how many calories in a bottle of Merlot" are commonplace. You may have wondered whether drinking wine can keep you from losing weight, and what the relationship is between wine and weight gain. There's a lot of confusion about the health benefits of drinking wine, and a lot of conflicting information. Low Sugar Wines is intended to help you sort out the facts about how wine fits into your diet, and give you the tools to enjoy wine knowledgeably and responsibly, while sticking to your diet and your goals for weight loss.

Wine is regulated by the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau), not the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). As a result, wineries are not legally required to provide nutritional information. Therefore, most wine labels do not list sugar content or calories. If you try to manage your intake of sugar, carbs and calories, you won't know what is in the wine you're drinking. Two wines made from the same grapes can contain wildly different amounts of sugar. I've made it my mission to address this with Low Sugar Wines. Low Sugar Wines teaches you wine history, culture and geography. Moreover, you'll learn how to become a "wine sleuth" and find clues to the sugar content in wine.

In addition to my book you'll have access to my Low Sugar Wines Index of hundreds of wines that you can buy right now. The Index lists wines containing 4 grams per liter of sugar or less. You also get their price, carbs per glass and bottle, alcohol levels, country of origin, and more. You'll also receive my newsletter giving you in depth reviews of more low sugar wines you're sure to love. Sign up for my newsletter and I'll also let you know when I'm putting the book on sale.
