About the Author

Dr. Steven Ray is a retired (2008) United States Air Force Colonel after serving nearly 40 years of highly decorated (i.e. Legion of Merit), active duty service. Colonel Ray was drafted in 1970 and served in the Vietnam War. When he retired, he was the Director of Staff at Lackland Air Force Base, TX…home of the United States Air Force (USAF) Basic Military Training. While on active duty, Colonel Ray was the Dean (Professor of Military Science) of the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS): National Defense University. NDU’s senior-level students were hand-picked by their respective service and Agency (CIA, DIA, etc.) and graduated from this very selective and rigorous program with a Masters Degree in Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy.

Dr. Ray taught undergraduate courses for Central Texas College, and graduate courses in Management and Public Administration for Webster University. Further, Dr. Ray served as a graduate Academic Advisor for Webster U. He is a member of Pi Gamma Mu an international honor society and the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge.

Colonel Ray is a graduate of USAF Officers Training School, Distinguished graduate of USAF Contracting School, Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College, Air War College, and the Joint Forces Staff College.

Dr. Ray graduated from the University of the Philippines with an undergraduate degree in Social Science and Masters Degree in Public Administration. He did further, extensive graduate work at the University of Texas, San Antonio. Dr. Ray graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Doctorate in Education Leadership.
