Description: This is an excellent book highlighting important nursing management areas such as management and conflict resolution, quality management, and creating a culture of magnetism.
Purpose: The purpose is to educate nurses from the baccalaureate level to the DNP level on concepts in nursing administration and healthcare delivery.
Audience: It is intended for upper level BSN students and RNs interested in obtaining a BSN or upper level degrees.
Features: The book addresses such areas as nursing leadership, emotional intelligence, ethics, organizational structures, management and nursing theory, information technology, transformational leadership, and magnetism. Beginning each section with objectives and ending with learning activities really pull all of the information together. The exercises and websites at the end are excellent resources!
Assessment: This is an excellent book for nursing students and nurses continuing to higher degrees. It is well written and insightful and highlights areas critical in management. The organization is clear and the delineation of objectives helpful. The exercises are an excellent way to provide pertinent, real-world studies for students. The websites provide additional information for both teachers and students. This is an excellent management book and I would highly recommend it to nursing schools. I have not seen another book that covers the topics as well.
