Stuart A. P. Murray has written many books, both fiction and nonfiction, for young readers. Among his many works about the history of war are Witness to the Civil War, a revision of the 1895 Leslie’s Illustrated History of the Civil War, Civil War Battles & Leaders, and A Time of War, which traces the role of Massachusetts in the American Civil War.
