Overview

The first book in Maya's Marvelous Time Travel Adventure series is about a 12-year-old girl named Maya who loves reading books about history and science. One day, she discovers an old, strange-looking notebook computer in an antiques store and buys it. While exploring the computer, she discovers a strange symbol on the screen that turns out to be a time machine. Maya sets the date to 1893, the year that Nikola Tesla first demonstrated his AC current system at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. When Maya arrives, she meets the brilliant inventor himself and learns about his inventions, including AC current and the Tesla Coil. Tesla is fascinated to learn that his inventions are still being used over 100 years later. Maya is inspired by Tesla's passion and dedication to science, and she asks him many questions about his inventions and ideas for the future. She also tells him about modern technology such as cell phones and televisions. The book is an exciting adventure through time and an educational journey through history and science.
