Overview

My name is Matthew Tabrizizadeh (TUH-bree-z-ZAH-day). "Mental" is based on a true story, magical if anything, the brain going from sane to insane because the name of the game: rationality versus irrationality, intelligible voices versus the mind, it also fighting anxiety and depression. Imagine the tension.

This micro chapbook has 10 pages of verse poetry, an atypical read, about mental illnesses, with words poetically timed, a rhyme for every other line—something that hooks readers, much like reading my last name for the very first time. It's no secret that emotions get the best of people, things starting shiny then becoming suddenly blue, when it feels like the end—absolutely not true.

From me to you, I hope you enjoy this chapbook too.

About the Author

I produce written art—right from the start, for everything I create, the reason for this site, the types of reads that bite—touching the heart, a taste of dark art, with words that set love and life together and apart. Learn about me.

Poetry, the one thing that’s part of me, the kind of writing firing up my heart, chosen to release throbbing art, is what sets my talent apart. For every poem—I use first, second, or third person, throwing arson in between words, igniting emotions, painting empowering words, to set a perspective in motion—bringing in the beauty of them when spoken . It’s that moment when you read a line, that oh-so-sweet rhyme, that makes my poetry cogent, even potent—for this here’s your token.

If you’re an agent or an avid reader, no matter the label, find out what I bring to the table—a promise that I’m able, even as a novice, this without a hint of being modest.

For if you choose me, my book, I mean, you’ll enter into a state of solace, tasting veracity, brought by my innate capacity—never mendacity.

Yours truly,

Matthew Tabrizizadeh (TUH-bree-z-ZAH-day)
