About the Author

I am a long-time writer and editor. For many years, I was a financial writer for magazines and newspapers, including the online Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, and for companies in the financial services industry, including Merrill Lynch. Before that, I edited the Wall Street Journal and Barron's for a Dow Jones financial data service.

My latest book, Miracles and Moments of Grace: Inspiring Stories from Doctors, released in March 2012. The book is the second title in the Miracles & Moments of Grace series. In it, I tell fifty first-person stories from physicians in all branches of medicine -- family doctors, emergency room doctors, dentists, ob/gyns, military doctors, missionary doctors, neurosurgeons and more. Their stories of encounters with patients range from the most tender stories of medical triumphs to heartbreaking stories of unimaginable tragedy.

The first book in the series, Inspiring Stories from Military Chaplains (Leafwood, 2011), is a collection of 50 stories that shed the light of God's grace on the lives of our servicemen and women, told through the military chaplains who care for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. I am currently working on the third book in the series, Inspiring Stories from Moms (Leafwood, March 2013).

My book of weight loss success stories, How We Did It: Weight Loss Choices That Will Work for You, tells thirty stories of personal weight loss success and examines the many paths people took to success -- every weight loss plan you can imagine from Atkins to the Zone.

My two children's books, Make It, Shake It, Mix It Up and Even the Sound Waves Obey Him, pair simple science activities with stories of faith.
