Set in Central New Jersey, Michelle is desperate for a full time job after her husband mysteriously leaves. Now a single parent needing financial security, she makes a career move into high-pressure sales at a large car dealership that rockets her into another world. Initially shocked and intrigued by the way customers’ emotions are plucked like strings on a fiddle to a tune known only to the players in the dealership, she quickly masters the melody to her own advantage, but with a price tag.
Eventually forced to reevaluate her life, Michelle comes full circle. Her growth in the automobile business parallels her own personal growth. Her outward struggles mirror her internal ones, and she uncovers a strength and courage unknown to her before.
Most people will experience the automobile buying process in their lifetime. Some of the scenes may seem familiar, others may shock you. The author was in the automobile business for over ten years in the 1990’s. All the characters are fictitious.
