About the Author

Gary Smith is the Founder and Chief Consultant of Smith Leadership Consulting Group (SmithLCG.com), which specializes in Motivational Speaking, Executive Leadership Coaching, and Workforce Leadership Development. Gary is a retired United States Marine Command Sergeant Major for almost three decades (27 1/2yrs) of service to this country, seeing and executing leadership from various vantage points both home and abroad that included combat tours.

Unquestionably, he has practical knowledge for coordinating, directing, and completing a full range of leadership and management activities in support of various functions within many organizations. Gary holds a B.S. Degree in Management from Excelsior College, and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Education from Louisiana State University (LSU). Gary is also a Certified Professional Counselor through the U.S. Department of Labor. Gary sits on the Board of Directors for Thrive Virginia. Gary is also a Member of The Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD). Gary is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Gary is a devoted member of both Louisiana State University (LSU) & Excelsior College Alumni Associations. Gary is a Facilitator for Anger Management Classes for at-risk youth for the State of Virginia (Fredericksburg Area). Gary is a Member of the NAACP of Stafford County, VA Branch. Gary is a Member of the Marines Memorial Association & Foundation. Gary is a Member of the Marine Corps Association & Foundation.

To date, Mr. Smith has trained participants from various sectors, including The Department of Defense, the United States Federal Government, and various organizations with the Private Sector.
