About the Author

Avery Cardinal Dulles, S.J. (1918-2008) was a distinguished scholar in residence at Fordham University, former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America, and the author of many books. He was elevated to the College of Cardinals in 2001 by Pope Saint John Paul II.
