About the Author

KAY MOON is a New York State certified teacher with 20 years of teaching experience. Kay takes pride in teaching diverse young learners to become lifelong readers and problem solvers. She has a MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University and is currently a member of Teachers College Alumni Association.

Kay loves NYC and one of her favorite moments was taking a power nap with her son at Central Park on a crisp sunny day under the big Cherry tree. She lived in Seoul, Korea in the 90's and feels very fortunate to have met so many caring and fun chingoos, unnis and oppas while studying at Yonsei University where she received her MA in English Linguistics.

Born into a Korean family in Tokyo, Japan, Kay attended international schools from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Kay is a single mother with a dream. As a young child, Kay always wanted to become a teacher but never thought of writing a children’s book. She was surprised at how much joy she experienced while creating her first Mogo-chan series. She is currently teaching at her Alma Mater in Tokyo and is excited to share the extraordinary school life through the eyes of Mogo-chan.
