Overview

Monkey Tales is a six chapter illustrated book for beginning readers.

Its related individual stories about losing teeth, digging tunnels, observing the work habits of ants, and swinging on vines are all high interest subjects for the children in its target audience.

For example, in the first chapter Mee-key is bored and sad. Mama-mo is having a busy day, and his older brother is allowed to go everywhere and do anything. Why does it take so long for a small monkey to grow bigger? he wonders.

In the final chapter, however, when the older brother finds that he no longer fits on their mother's lap during a thunderstorm, the younger monkey concludes that being little sometimes has advantages after all.

About the Author

As a child growing up in cozy little town on the Missouri River of South Dakota, Lynda explored her early passion for writing and art by creating stories and poems. She even attempted one novel on theme paper and kept it carefully hidden on a high dusty shelf in her bedroom.

She has lived in Arizona with her husband and their black and white cat, Topper for many years now. Their two grown-up daughters have homes and families of their own in other places.

With two degrees in Elementary Ed, Lynda loved teaching in grades 1,2,3,4, and 5 of public schools for twenty-one years. Even after retirement she continued to work with students in a reading intervention program.

...And throughout her adult life she wrote, painted, and revised her stories. At last, she began to realize that she owned a desk full of ideas, problems, and children who lived only in her imagination.

She worried because books without readers seemed to be such a waste of joy and inspiration!

Ebooks offered Lynda an audience, and it completed the communication cycle that sometimes had begun with a germ of an idea many years before.

She has currently published seven of these ebooks, and they will all be available on this market very soon.

…And three more stories are still in the growing and changing stages—almost like real young children.
