Overview

Winter in Wisconsin stops being a season and becomes a prison sentence by the end of January. Any trace of the holiday glow seems but a leftover from a meal long past by the time the New Year is two weeks old. All of the joy and wonder of the first snowfall has long been forgotten through weeks of bitter temperatures, unforgiving winds and a repetition of snowy days forming weeks threatening to become months. Piles of snow lining every road are built into frozen fixtures at the base of driveways.

More than one household has fallen victim to the dreaded 'Cabin Fever' while threats of the flu, a stomach bug or even the common cold darken each doorstep. Those who pride themselves upon being hearty Wisconsinites are just about ready to give way to weakened knees in the wake of such misery. Winter in Wisconsin stops being a season and becomes a prison sentence by the end of January. This year is no exception...even if Monona Acres, in the wake of a series of terrible events, is having an exceptional year. One not to be forgotten soon...

--Last Summer: Terrible things started to happen in Monona Acres after a couple and their young son relocate there...
This Past Autumn: Mysteries unsolved from the summer plagued Monona Acres while new ones presented themselves...
--After a small town kidnapping went wrong last summer, the small lakefront town of Monona Acres, in Wisconsin just a few hours out of Chicago, had to come to terms with the fact that what appeared to be a cut-and-dry abduction had deeper roots than anyone suspected.
--Neighbors are questioning who lives across the street from them or on the edges of their lawns. In a town where nearly everyone harbors a secret, nothing is as it seems to be. Besieged by a sinister predator, Monona Acres is about to be eaten by the darkness of the season's shadows or find a way toward the light.
