Overview

Kids are busy! Adults are busy! It can be easy to overlook the wonder and beauty all around us. But we need to go no farther than our very own backyard. The author’s young niece's curiosity about feathered friends forged a bond between them and the birds that exists still today. This book is the result of an Aunt and her niece sitting still and enjoying nature from the back step.
My Backyard Is For The Birds is a young beginner’s guide to bird watching. It provides tips for attracting birds to their yard and an illustrated guide to help identify the most common eastern birds.

About the Author

Jennifer Scardino was born in Camden, New Jersey and currently resides in the rural town of Winslow where she has lived for thirty-six years.
Growing up, Jennifer spent a great many summers and weekends with her grandparents in Magnolia, New Jersey. They would feed the birds, share binoculars and talk about the birds they saw that day. Birdwatching bridged the generation gap and gave them something common to share together as well as teaching her a respect and love for nature.
This is Jennifer’s first book.
