Mysterion: Rediscovering the Mysteries of the Christian Faith
The Christian faith is filled with mystery, from the Trinity and the Incarnation to the smaller mysteries found in some of the strange and unexplained passages of the Bible: Behemoth and Leviathan, nephilim and seraphim, heroes and giants and more. There is no reason for fiction engaging with Christianity to be more tidy and theologically precise than the faith itself.

Here you will find challenging fantasy, science fiction, and horror stories that wrestle with tough questions and refuse to provide easy answers or censored depictions of a broken world, characters whose deeds are as obscene as their words and people who meet bad ends--sometimes deserved and sometimes not. But there are also hope, grace, and redemption, though even they can burn like fire.

About the Author

Donald S. Crankshaw and Kristin Janz met at a church writers' group in 2009, bonded almost immediately over their shared love of speculative fiction and ancient Roman history, and have been married since 2011. They live just outside of Boston, Massachusetts.

Donald has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from MIT, which was more useful for writing fantasy than he had expected, though less helpful for writing science fiction than he had hoped. He has previously published stories in Nature Futures, Daily Science Fiction, and Black Gate.

Kristin is a Canadian fantasy and science fiction writer and a 2008 graduate of the Clarion West Writers Workshop. Her stories have appeared in Daily Science Fiction, On Spec, and Crowded Magazine. She has an M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from the University of British Columbia, and worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a medicinal chemist for over a decade.

This is their first anthology.
