Gloria Hash Marcus is a Licensed PsychoEducational Specialist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and a Structured Literacy Teacher who has forty-three years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Marcus has extensive experience in school systems, having served as an administrator, school psychologist, consultant, and teacher. Ms. Marcus' broad-based background with children and adolescents includes work in a developmental pediatric clinic, in a psychiatric hospital, and in a state mental health agency.
Ms. Marcus conducts psychoeducational evaluations, investigating the cognitive, academic, social, and neural-processing needs of children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of expertise include the assessment and treatment of learning disabilities, dyslexia, Nonverbal Learning Disorders (NLD), and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Specialty areas also include treatment for depression, anxiety and stress, and development of healthy parenting strategies.
In addition to working with children, adolescents, and families in a private practice, Ms. Marcus lectures nationally on Multiple Intelligences and Assertive Skills. She is the author of R U Assertive? Stand Up Skills for Teenagers, which provides teens (and adults) a guide for developing better communications skills and improving self-esteem. Ms. Marcus develops curricula for Multiple Intelligences that are specific to school settings. She has taught Multiple Intelligences for years at private schools.
