Ever since the age of seven, I have been fascinated with the kitchen. I remember my first time cracking an egg, my first culinary magazine subscription, the first holiday meal I prepared for my family, and the first culinary event I hosted. Each of these experiences brought me great joy.
For some, cooking is nothing more than a meaningless task, governed by the monotony of everyday life and personal responsibility. For others, cooking is a medium for self expression; same as an artist uses a canvas or a poet their pen and paper. For me, cooking is all of those things and more. Over the years I've used cooking and my love for the kitchen and entertaining as a vessel for which to share my joy and passion for culinary arts with loved ones. Ever since I saw Emril Laggasse on the television hosting a live studio audience while cooking an extraordinary meal of which he shared with each of his guests, I knew that was what I was destined to do. When I am overjoyed, cooking allows me to share that happiness with those I love. When life feels a bit unhinged, cooking in the kitchen offers fortitude and a space for free creativity.
I am so thrilled to be sharing this, my first cookbook, with you in the hopes that it will offer you the same joy and fulfillment its given me to prepare it.
